The 1099 OS: Eat the Frog (Process 4)
The Myth of Inspiration
We all have that one item on the to-do list. The cold call we don’t want to make. The difficult email we don’t want to send. The taxes we don’t want to file.
So, we procrastinate. We do “research.” We clean our desk. We wait for inspiration.
Process 4: Action destroys the myth of inspiration. Action does not follow motivation; motivation follows action. You have to move first.
Eat the Frog
In Mentally Awake, we use the “Eat the Frog” principle. If your job is to eat a frog, do it first thing in the morning. If you have to eat two frogs, eat the big one first.
Do the hardest, most revenue-critical task before you open your email. Use the “Two-Minute Rule” to clear the small stuff, but don’t let the small stuff crowd out the big stuff.
Momentum Over Perfection
You don’t build a business by thinking about it. You build it by doing the work you are avoiding.
Get moving with the Mentally Awake OS.
Are you building a scalable business or just a high-stress job?
Most independent professionals are one bad month away from a crisis. Stop the “Feast or Famine” cycle and get a clear roadmap for your business.
Mark Sharman is the founder of Mentally Awake, a growth system designed to help 1099 entrepreneurs move from “Job to Business.”
