A Budget is Not a Vision
Ask a typical freelancer what their vision is, and they’ll say, “To make $200k this year.” That is not a vision. That is a budget.
A vision is a picture of the future that produces passion. It is the answer to the question: “What does my life look like when it is working perfectly?”
The Destination Filter
Process 1: Vision is the first step of the Mentally Awake flywheel. It requires you to lift your head out of the daily grind and look at the horizon.
For the 1099 Entrepreneur, a Vision might look like: “I want a business that generates $20k a month while allowing me to take August off to be with my kids.”
- Now you have a destination.
- Now you can filter your decisions.
- Does this difficult client help me get August off? No? Then they have to go.
Creating Your Reality
