Do you have a motion mindset?

Body in motion“A body in motion will stay in motion, while a body at rest will remain at rest.” – Issac Newton. This is part of Newton’s first law of motion. I know what you’re thinking, am I reading the right article? What does that have to do with success? Well, my answer is, everything.

Think about the last time you woke up on- time with a sense of purpose. You got so many things done that day, one thing after another. You felt completely accomplished and in control. Then you came home with the last few things on your list in mind and said to yourself, “I’ll just take 10 minutes of TV time, then get the rest of my list done.” The next thing you know it is 11pm and you are still in front of the TV flipping channels. What happened?

The Law of motion – it’s a state of mind

Newton’s first law of motion happened. While you were in motion you stayed there but when you decided to rest you stayed at rest. So what am I saying? That you can never stop again? Of course not. I’m talking about a state of mind.

Continually moving forward is a state of mind that is necessary to achieve your goals. You have to ask yourself with everything that you do, will this ultimately help me achieve my goals? Of course, before you can answer that you must have a clear idea of what your most important goals are. I mean all of them;, work, family, friends, health and personal development.

Set clear goals and match action to them

First off, make sure your goals are clear, written down and reviewed every day. You want them constantly in your head and on your mind. Then honestly ask yourself before you do something if it will help you achieve your goals. If the answer is yes, do it. If the answer is no, then you have to make a decision.

Nobody is perfect, sometimes even if the answer is no, this will not help me with my goals sometimes we will decide to do it anyway. Nobody is perfect, whatever you decide That is a perfectly legitimate decision, the difference is that you’re making it with your eyes open.

Sometimes, snuggling on the coach with the kid and some popcorn and the kids to watch a movie will fit perfectly in your family goals. Taking some “me” time to read a book might fit into your personal development goals. The most important thing is your mindset and your awareness.

Get off auto-pilot

Your mindset is really the key to your success. Don’t go through life on auto-pilot; you really need to engage. Be aware of the decisions you make and how they will affect you and your goals. I think if you can make decisions for yourself with these things in mind, you will find that you make much better decisions most of the time. And isn’t that what it’s all about?
